Summary:

The Structural Designer produces structural layout, arrangement and structural

fabrication drawings of the process packages.

Responsibilities:

• Detail structural frame in 3D models to match supports of equipment,

piping, and instrumentation in a skid with consideration to:

• Structural analysis output / Good Engineering practice

• Minimize fabrication cost by optimizing the supports / bracings/ choosing correct joint configurations by liaising with Structural Engineer / 3D Modelers.

• Follow International standards and project specifications

• Understanding of the fundamental process, mechanical and structural requirements of the company’s process packages

• Familiar with the requirements of Oil & Gas drawings, including normal

symbology and the requirement for consistency

• Understand the data requirements of drawings being produced to facilitate an efficient fabrication process

• Ability to translate technical data into structural drawings

• Familiarity with fabrication practices

• Produce detailed drawings for both proposal and project requirements

• Ensure that fabrication drawings clearly present information to the shop floor

• Resolve issues during fabrication, such as physical clashes

• Review drawings produced by others.

Education/Equivalent:

• Engineering Degree -- Mechanical / Civil / Structural or equivalent experience

Special Skills/Abilities Needed:

• 8+ years of Proficient experience in structural design & detailing in Tekla or Advance Steel, as well as AutoCAD is mandatory.

• Familiarity with international specifications relating to structures

• Familiarity with different international standards for Modelling/ Drafting

• Familiarity with 3D Modelling packages like Solidworks / Cadworks will be added advantage

• Proficient in MS-Office (especially MS Excel).

• Able to learn and use in house tools(SAP, PDM/EPDM/Vault software) and 3rd party software.
