IT Data Architect
Role Summary:

As an IT Data Architect, you will be a leader within our Data team focused on transforming our data practice into a Data as a Service/Self Service Analytics model. This will require the ability to partner with data analysts and data scientists to deeply understand their needs, while being able to technically communicate and develop a solution architecture that satisfies their requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Data Solution Architecture (75%):

a. Canonize and implement baseline architectures that satisfy known data requirements in our enterprise

 b. Establish new baseline architectures and identify new technologies for new data requirements from our enterprise that outpace current                   

     technologycapabilities

c. Partner with analysts and data scientists to understand their data requirements, to facilitate the development of a solution path that will fit their needs

d. Perform quality assurance checks on Data Engineers deliverables to maintain a good quality of product and minimize risk when promoting to   

    production Environments
2. Data Engineering & Development (20%)

a. Execute and develop along defined solution paths
b. Utilize data engineering as a means to stay current with contemporary techniques as well as a way to mentor and train Data Engineers
3. Data Platform Support & Operations
a. Develop and lead our Support Operations organization to make them as self-sufficient as possible in ensuring our Data Platform is up, running and performant
 b. Be a point of escalation and expertise in instances where an outage in our Data Platform  exceeds the capability of the Support Operations     

organization
4. Leadership

a. Lead teams of data engineers to develop and deploy data solutions
b. Find opportunities to mentor and train data engineers and peer architects
 c. Maintain curiosity in the fast-paced market of data technologies to stay current and identify opportunities to improve and contemporize our Data          platform

Qualifications:
Required:

•  Bachelor's (BS or BA) or higher degree in a technical field of Information Systems and Technology
• Total 7+yrs of Exp
• 3+ Years in a Data Engineering role
• 1+ Year operating as a Junior Data Architect
• Experience in a cloud infrastructure environnement (AWS preferred)

Desired:

• AWS Data Solution Architect certification
• Strong communication and/or technical business analyst skillset
• Detail oriented. Seeks out information and resources to share with others. Attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze, resolve problems, and build solutions in a customer-first environment
• Energy and Enthusiasm. Passion for creating scalable, repeatable solutions with a focus on always improving the Data Platform and team members
• Demonstrated ability to execute against multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity
• Demonstrated presentation skills with the ability to assist others to gain clear understanding of expected outcomes and knowledge transfer
