Role Summary :

The Piping Designer produces layout, arrangement and fabrication drawings of the process packages.

Essential Responsibilities / Expectations :

• Design layout in 3D models of equipment, piping, structures and instrumentation in a skid with consideration to: • Provide safe operation and access for operators of the package • Minimise fabrication cost through optimisation of pipe and cable tray routing • Follow international standards and project specifications
• Understanding of the fundamental process and mechanical requirements of the company’s process packages
• Able to spatially conceptualize and translate ideas into design drawings
• Familiar with the requirements of Oil & Gas drawings, including normal symbology and the requirement for consistency
• Understand the data requirements of drawings being produced to facilitate an efficient fabrication process
• Ability to translate technical data into equipment drawings
• Familiarity with fabrication practices
• Produce detailed drawings for both proposal and project requirements
• Ensure that fabrication drawings clearly present information to the shop floor
• Resolve issues during fabrication, such as physical clashes
• Review drawings produced by others

Educational Qualification :

Engineering Degree -- Mechanical or equivalent experience 6 years experience in Oil & Gas or related industry
