THE POSITION: South Asia EHS Leader
This role will be responsible for providing EHS support for South Asia. Responsibilities include implementation of all necessary EHS programs, engineering design review, EHS procedure writing, governance, and processes required to represent the company as a customer facing Subject Matter Expert (SME). This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and make operational decisions under challenging situations. It will require strong people management and technical skills. This position will work closely with the South AsiaS Sales and Service and Supply Chain Operations Leaders to drive progress, best practice sharing, lessons learned and implementation throughout the region.
Responsibilities:
- Requires cross-functional interaction and relationship with manufacturing, sourcing, technology, operations and the commercial team.
- Management of South Asia EHS team
- Provide leadership and direction to the business on field/dispersed workforce and supply chain related EHS issues
- Work closely with operations to drive implementation of programs to ensure all federal and local EHS regulatory and Veolia management systems are met
- Organize and drive feedback to engineering for sustained product and project delivery improvement.
- Training/Mentoring in the field of company staff or partners for site visits, commissioning activities
- Managing customer expectations and ensuring that the highest standards are maintained by Veolia WTS employees.
- Communicate with fellow services, product team members, engineering, process & controls groups to ensure issues are recorded and understood to allow uninterrupted customer service.
- Travel to customer sites to provide specific attention to project and site safety to ensure the customer experience is positive.
- Use their knowledge, and their observations of events at customer and supply chain sites to formulate a plan to resolve issues.
- Root Cause Analysis experience/training for solving incident investigation.
- Data mining and trend analysis of information across the business to support improved performance.
- Develop and implement focus areas to improve EHS performance
- Drive positive change in EHS programs through proactive planning, execution and measurement
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (engineering, EHS or chemistry preferred)
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment projects, product/project safety, or related fields.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment and operate independently to deliver business results.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Project Management skills / experience
- Drive a winning mentality and culture.
- Relevant field experience working around water treatment equipment.
- Background in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools Apollo / Tap Root.
- Focus on customer relationships (both external and internal customers).
- Up to 50% travel.
