POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Intern role within the organisation that will take on projects from initiation to completion during the extent of their time with the team.  The successful candidate will have visibility across many functional groups (engineering, operations, maintenance, etc.) and will continuously support to optimize safety and manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures, and assist with process improvement projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform diverse engineering activities involving design and/or redesign of testing equipment.
  • Perform creation of layout, detail, and assembly drawings.
  • Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with established policies, standards, and objectives; establish and/or update engineering standards and specifications as needed.
  • Work with senior engineers to ensure projects meet design specifications and are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical support for testing and facility operations.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
  • Comply with all Veolia Company and HSE procedures and policies.

Specific Projects (subject to changes based on needs to facility):

  • Build a database for PSV data. 
    • Inspection history and frequency, service, size. 
    • This would give a starting point on determining if and what inspection frequencies can be modified.
  • Build a database for a lubrication program. We can use the vibration equipment list then determine what can be sampled.
  • Final presentation to be presented to site leadership at the end of summer presenting h/her learning experience, and detailed scope of project.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University Degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. (preferably junior or senior)
  • 3.0 overall GPA or higher
  • Coursework in engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously when provided work instructions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Internship Duration

  • May 2024 - Early August
  • Full Time
