Project Manager

Role Summary / Purpose

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring a world class service throughout the whole life of the contract by overseeing and managing project lifecycle from receipt of customer order to project handover. As a Project Manager in the water treatment sector with a focus on the oil and gas industry, he/she will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, meeting established objectives and adhering to timelines and budget constraints. For this opportunity, we are looking for a candidate that is good in both English and French language for managing projects with international stakeholders. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage EP/ EPC projects across the Middle East region through all phases of the project lifecycle including engineering, manufacturing, delivery, construction, installation, commissioning, and final contract closeout.
• Execute projects in compliance with contract requirements (standards, codes and regulations) and maintain project documentation including scope, schedule, budget, quality, progress reports while managing risk, improving margin and exceeding customer expectations.
• Be the primary customer contact and advocate responsible for resolving technical / commercial
• issues, managing communications and providing periodic status updates
• Responsible for the financial performance of the project. Owns project profitability & cost including revenue reporting and budget requests.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as engineers, contractors, suppliers, regulators and clients, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project.
• Manage project risks issues including receivables, claims and contract changes, and implement mitigation and contingency plans as needed.
• Lead project team, including partners, through contract reviews to identify & manage risks, monitor financial and operational performance against the agreed timescales, and initiates corrective action where appropriate.
• Facilitates Return on Experience activities such as project wrap up meetings, lessons learned or review of voice of customer feedback to establish improvement areas & potential best practices.
• Advocates continuous improvement & work towards continuous improvement goals & objectives through the completion of assigned improvement projects.
• Follow VWTS Quality and QMS procedures

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with a focus on water or wastewater treatment 
• Minimum 10 years of experience in managing water or wastewater treatment projects for oil and gas facilities or similar industries.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget and with high quality standards.
• Experience in working in different cultures, environments and under stress.
• Fluency in English and French language. 
• Good verbal & written communications skills, including presentations.
• Established prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple & changing priorities.
• Sense of urgency in dealing with issues and tasks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
• Ability to drive and manage change in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.
