Our EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Graduate Program is designed for recent graduates who are looking for a challenging yet rewarding experience and want to take a leap into a global organization following completion of their studies. 

We are looking for motivated individuals who are willing to think outside the box, share new ideas and take on new challenges. Successful candidates will join us between August and October. The first training session will take place during October.

Minimum requirements:

  • Safety advisor level 1 or 2

  • Self-starter

  • Fluency in Dutch and English 

  • Pro-active behaviour & communication

  • Excellent communication skills towards all levels within the organization

  • Capable of driving the implementation of projects and programs

 

Open and available to frequent traveling during the trainee program 

 

What will you be doing? 

At VEOLIA Water Technologies & Solutions we offer our graduates a challenging 12-month program focused on developing their essential and technical skills through a combination of in person, virtual and on the job training. Each graduate in our program takes on a focused role to develop their expertise in a specific area and make a difference for the local business team.

Key Objectives: 

After the cross-European training program the key objective is to become an EHS Specialist.

 

Responsibilities: 

Upon graduation of the program, this talent should be able to take an EHS Specialist role in the Herentals plant. The EHS Specialist is responsible to support the EHS manager so that the Herentals, Seveso High tier, site meets all European, Belgian, Flemish and Veolia-corporate regulations and requirements with regards to safety, health and environment 

 

The Plant EHS Specialist maintains and develops the current management systems (ISO 14001, Veolia Framework) and will be responsible for the practical implementation and delivery of EHS legislation, policy, strategy and objectives.  

 

The following activities are a guideline, others can be part of the job scope: 

  • As EHS specialist you lead by example the workforce in meeting company EHS goals and objectives. 

  • Monitoring compliance with laws and company's EHS procedures and requirements implemented.

  • Be compliant with the Seveso requirements and documentations: SWA-VR, O-VR, inspections of officials, 

  • Follow up all site expansion projects with a strong focus on process safety management

  • Drive & support the implementation of Safety- and Environmental Mgt. Systems

  • Supports the EHS manager from a Health & Safety and Environmental perspective in new projects, processes and installations being developed for the Herentals site.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, concerns and unsafe conditions to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Responsible to prepare and implement, guidelines and/or Veolia programs at the Herentals Plant.

  • Day-to-day interface with operators to promote safety programs and incident/accident prevention
