Job Summary

 

Reporting into Veolia WTS’ Regional Procurement Manager, Chemicals, Europe, this key regional Procurement Specialist will negotiate the contracts with our chemical suppliers while ensuring a cost-effective supply of chemicals for our business in Europe, developing regional partnerships, supporting new product introduction and streamlining our supplier portfolio.

She/He will work closely with the regional and global functional and procurement stakeholders to support and align sourcing strategies with the business and supply chain needs.

 

Key Functions & Responsibilities

 

  • Enable business competitiveness through material negotiations, cost out projects and inflation mitigation while ensuring supply continuity,

  • Partner closely with the Category Managers to align the negotiation strategies,

  • Manage suppliers’ performance on cost, quality, delivery, cash and compliance,

  • Perform continual market analysis and monitor supplier score cards and their improvement,

  • Eliminate single/sole sources, qualify new regional and international suppliers.

 

Core Requirement

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Chemistry or similar field, or equivalent work experience required.

  • 5 years’ work experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, negotiations with experience in chemicals and packaging across Europe.

  • Technical background in chemicals (polymers, solvents, biocides, solvents, amines, phos. products…) is preferable.

  • Work knowledge of SAP (must have).

  • Good French and English communication skills.

  • Good understanding of Procurement process and tools.

  • Effective in supplier negotiations to maximise saving opportunities.

  • Engaged, well-organised, strategic thinker/planner, proactive and self-motivated for success, eager to learn and grow.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, capable of developing presentations and comfortable interacting with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced multicultural environment in a matrix organisation.
