Job Summary: 

The Field Area Manager is responsible for leading a dispersed team of Field Service Employees in contract execution across the Western Canadian provinces in a safe and cost effective manner. Our ideal candidate has an industrial or technical background preferably in water and wastewater treatment solutions with experience managing personnel. 

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities (List 5-7 essential functions for the role, focusing on broader responsibilities)

  • Lead a dispersed team of Field Service Employees within an assigned geography/contracts portfolio

  • Manage contracts and operations at our customer sites to ensure a safe working condition, contract compliance, and financial performance

  • Responsible for staffing and the development of Field Service Employees within your geography/contracts portfolio

  • Responsible for operational metrics such as Environmental, Health and Safety performance, employee utilization, overtime and operational costs

  •  Leads operational & contract reviews with our customers on a regular basis

  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of strong relationships with assigned customer portfolio

  • Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments including heavy industrial facilities, light manufacturing facilities and commercial and institutional properties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Preferred:

  • Experience with large scale equipment commissioning and operations

  • Previous Leadership experience with a dispersed field-based team

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with those you work with

  • Strong troubleshooting skills - ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and Google suite of applications. 


 

Education & Experience

Required

  • BS degree in a technical field - for example Chemistry, or Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or five years’ experience and relevant leadership experience in industrial water, wastewater, or food & beverage water treatment solutions or related field

  • Ability and willingness to travel within assigned geography, with an estimated travel of 30-60%

  • Valid driver’s license 

 

 

Working Conditions 

  • 30-60% travel; typically weekdays

  • Work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and other similar irritants typical of those found in refinery, chemical plants, power plants, etc., as required
