Remote position covering the UK, you can be based anywhere in the United Kingdom.

 

The Sales Leader is responsible for defining the medium-term growth strategy for the UK, whilst coaching the UK Growth Team to develop sustainable solutions that make best use of the technology and expertise that Veolia can offer.

This Sales Leader role is similar to Sales Director, Growth leader, Country leader and Sales Manager positions. Your official title will be Country Leader UK.

 

The Sales Leader will assist the team to sell the full portfolio of Engineered Solutions (ES) Products, Projects and Services, as well as taking the lead of large or strategic opportunities.

 

Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, UK & Ireland, the Sales Manager/Leader will work in an international and highly stimulating environment, with frequent contact with team members both in the region and overseas. You will work closely with a diverse functional team, including, Project management and delivery, Commercial Operations, Products & Standards, Technical centres of excellence, Operations, Asset Care, Mobile & Corporate.

 

The job requires the ability to think and act strategically, coach and develop a team, high motivation, persistence and sales-oriented drive.

 

What will your time look like?

 

Strategic

 

  • Develop and execute a rolling medium-term plan that identifies key target markets where Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions can grow sustainably through the delivery of differentiated solutions
  • Develop and maintain key senior level relationships with Industrial and Municipal customers and prospects
  • Define and lead a marketing strategy for growth in Industrial and Municipal markets
  • Ensure a strong sustainability focus through all proposals in line with the Group mission to become the champion of Ecological Transformation
  • Develop a network of partners to assist in the delivery of Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions technologies to meet our customers water treatment needs
  • Lead large or strategically important opportunities

 

Commercial

 

  • Coach the team to meet or exceed key metrics for assigned growth targets and/or other project activities.
  • Manage the team to ensure efficient prospecting to develop, lead & close opportunities in the defined geographical area & Markets, working with all the appropriate resources.
  • Understand customer needs, qualify leads, and work closely with the Commercial Supporting functions to provide competitive solutions for our customers and drive the sales cycle of Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions specialist services and Products.
  • Work closely with commercial and technical functions to develop and deliver winning solutions
  • Develop relationships with other Veolia business units to develop sustainable solutions to the challenges facing our customers
  • Develop strong professional relationships with internal and external key influencers.
  • Establish strong engagement with Territory Managers, Service Leaders and Industry Vertical Leaders.
  • Support the company’s campaigns and gather market information.
  • Identify market trends and changes in the local legislation that trigger the use of the company’s solution portfolio.

 

Technical & Project Development

 

  • Act as an expert (technical and commercial) in the market for growing the Veolia Brand as a water solutions provider.
  • Develop opportunities in the UK, by solving critical issues the Industries are facing around water treatment matched with an understanding of the Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions products and solutions to solve these.
  • Proven knowledge of selling services solutions in an industrial environment (long term service agreements, asset care, technical assistance, etc).
  • Work with the team to promote digital monitoring and Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions Insight technology.
  • Work with Project Managers and delivery teams in the preparation of bids and execute hand-over procedures.

 

You’ll have a mix of the following:

 

  • BSc or MSc Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical discipline and/or relevant business qualifications (i.e. MBA)
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the sale and development of solutions-based services - preferably within water technologies but we will consider similar environments.
  • Experience of bid preparation and contract negotiation.
  • Capabilities to anticipate and accelerate change, work in a rapidly changing environment and operate to deliver business results
  • Networking, influencing and team building/player skills, capable of working within a globally diverse team across different time zones
  • Solid communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to speak effectively with groups and customers, clients, and other colleagues
  • Proven sales/market development record and demonstrated to be successful in complex technical and relationship driven business
  • Demonstrated skills to energise, motivate and drive multi disciplinary teams
  • Strong negotiator and able to work with senior industrial leaders, top management and their technical and operational staff
  • Prepared to travel internationally as required for conferences, training or meetings
  • Prepared to travel & network within UK
  • Full UK driving licence and passport
  • Self-motivated, ability to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving ability with an unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments in situations where only limited standardisation exists
