Role Summary/Purpose
This position is a part of the Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions (WTS) business level EHS staff focused on regional environmental activities. Success will be assured through building positive, effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external customers. In this role, you will:


Essential Responsibilities:
● Build strong Environmental Programs utilizing ISO14001 and our Gensuite data management system to ensure effective programs
● Data mining and trend analysis of environmental issues to support improved performance. Participate in investigations of events and provide support with root cause analysis studies; support operations in
driving implementation of corrective actions identified
● Develop and implement new initiatives to improve environmental performance – Focus areas include ISO14000 implementation across select facilities; storm/wastewater and air permit Structured What if
Scenario (SWIFT) exercises and/or Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEAs).
● Support business by maintaining expert knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and associated changes in environmental related rules that affect Veolia WTS
● Support compliance assurance efforts by conducting site level environmental audits with emphases on regulatory compliance and integrated ISO programs.
● Provide guidance and leadership on air, storm/wastewater permitting, and chemical reporting obligations
● Provide guidance and support regarding waste management compliance and associated vendor due diligence auditing and / or reviews.
● Drive completion of environmental related sustainability reporting, per Veolia Group expectations.
● Provide support regarding activities to reduce overall GHG emissions, water consumption and waste generation for affected facilities, support energy treasure hunts program
● Support environmental aspects of industrial risks prevention, related to high risk processes, Seveso regulations
● Support commercial and Inquiry to Order (ITO) steps on environmental performance information, and risk review process
● Support hazardous material transportation program and compliance in the region

 

Qualifications/Requirements
● Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Science, Engineering or other Environmental type discipline
● Minimum 10 years EHS experience, in both manufacturing and field service operations

 

Perfect command of spoken and written English is essential.


Eligibility Requirements:
● Willingness and ability to travel within region approximately 30-40% of the time


Desired Characteristics
● Able to effectively work in a matrix organization across business and Corporate wide
● Professional Environmental Engineer, or equivalent recognized Environmental related certification
● Adaptable with demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities

● Knowledge of Environmental Laws within Areas of Responsibility
